Stonefield P5000 tilt Grampian FB FSO662V

1979 fire exhibition - foam carrier but later a cliff rescue appliance. Lasted jut a few years - see picture 10559. Stonefields were not a success, but they are a personal favourite of mine.

Petros it was initially based in Elgin as Rescue Unit to replace the Dennis Emergency Tender they had. If I remember correctly its equipment was carried in grey boxes and could be quickly changed depending on the incident it was called to. The main role as Rescue Unit for crashes but another role was for hill fires because of its off road capability. I’m not sure it was ever designated as a Foam Carrier but that may have been an option? It was replaced about 7 or 8 years later by a new F reg Dodge Rescue Unit and the Stonefield then became a line rescue unit based at North Anderson Drive Aberdeen, I cant remember how long it was in that role for?
