Just to think both them ARPs including the one in the other picture are off the run because of that incident

Added by Steve Bonner on 02 June 2010.
Hello Steve, what was it about that incident that caused the ARPs to be taken off the run?
How were the ARPs affected?

Billy C. Great shot!

Any idea why they are "off the run?"

What incident Steve?

Added by Scott Hume on 02 June 2010.
What happened to them Steve?

Added by Stevie Murray on 02 June 2010.
Thats not much use if they need to be withdrawn for 'repairs' or 'rest' after an incident.

Whats wrong with them?

Added by Buzz on 03 June 2010.
Not sure just been told they have been taken off the run for repair.Been replaced by Rescue Pumps for the mean time

Does anyone know why the two baskets are not manned?

Added by Rob Johnson on 08 June 2010.
They do not have to be manned as they can be remotley controled from the ground

Added by Steve Bonner on 08 June 2010.
This is great IF the ground operator can really see the fire, but the concept of the manned bucket is so the operator can see where to put "the wet stuff on the red stuff".

'Modern day thinking' is now not to put firefighters in an area of greater risk if possible - look at West Midlands MAN Water Tower with camera operated monitors as an example !

the arp on the left is from paisley. it is off the run due to the cage bypassing all of its safety switches, just glad that i was not in the cage at the time or i would be hanging out of the cage waiting to be rescued

How long has it been off the run for? Our one at Clydebank was only off the run for a day.
