Is this an ex Strathclyde machine?

It's ex Kent FB, first stationed at Thanet, then Folkestone retained, was purchased by Bells and Two Tones in Hampshire after disposal from Kent.

It's ex Kent, one of four machines bought for evaluation by them in late eighties/early nineties. The other three were Volvo FL6/14 F996 FKO, Dennis Rapier H196 FKP and DAF H220 DKN? The DAF was rumoured to have been sold to AWE Aldermaston after only a short time, does anyone know if it's still around?

Phil, it did go to AWE in Aldermaston but if it's still there I can't tell you. Saw it at Folkstone some years ago but mechanics were working on it and I missed that one.

Definately agree with Phil on this one,it was an evaluation pump with Kent,Folkestone retained were running it when I photographed it. Ironically kent didnt buy any more of them,sticking with Dennis SS,Rapier and Sabre models. But they have bought modern Scania's lately.

This was Kent FB nr. 132: a Scania G93ML4x2RS38KKL-250 WrT, with bodywork by John Dennis (not E-One), built in 1989.

Buzz, this type of work has become common for local importers of fire trucks from the United Kingdom. It´s not too difficult because most of the vehicles are ready for change in the steering column.

moving the seat is very straightforward its moving the steering wheel and controls that takes a little more effort !

F999mar was our wrt at Folkestone I have many happy memories of driving it to and fighting many major fires in it it was e very quick and driver friendly vehicle....much liked I would like to obtain a photo of it in KfB livery if anyone has one please contact me on my e mail address thanks Barry.
