1) It may be a foam i.e. combined foam-water tanker;
2) setting up a high volume pump/fire boat and laying out hundreds of meters of large diameter delivery hose does take some time, during which the extingushing agent, be it water or foam, needs to be applied constantly for best effect;
3) at least according to the German tactical doctrine, you would need a 'buffer' tanker for incoming external water supplies, especially when this would be done via a tanker shuttle service. In Poland, you can find 'buffer tanker' pods, designed to play this role alone.
Hello Petros, would you know the tank capacity? What size pump does this tanker have? Is it used as a nurse tanker, or does it carry portable ponds and does it shuttle water?
I tried my friend Google to find some information for you. This is a 2003 Volvo FM9 8x4 with a bodywork from Plastisol / Fire Technics. The tank contains 16000 litres of water. License plate DRP-792. I couldn't find any information about the pump sorry about that.Perhaps one of the Belgium contributors can tell us.
