Hi Eduardo,
Thanks for posting this interesting Mercedes ladder truck; it's a real classic and I'm sure many who like the oldtimers appreciate it. Are there many veteran fire trucks in your country?
What do you call veteran or oldtimer fire trucks?

Hello Bob,
Thank you very much for your comment.
In Argentina there are a few veteran fire trucks, in very good condition. In little fire departments, mostly volunteer, they are still in service. In general, I call veteran vehicles the ones with up to 30 or 40 years old.
I will try to upload scanned photos of more oldtimers. Now, I hope to picture again this kind of vehicles with my digital camera.

Unusual to see a Mercedes-Metz TL with a full crew cab and especially one with a mid-mounted pump. Certainly a rare 'export job' built to the specification of the Argentine customer.

But it makes sense if you want to stretch your budget, because it can function as a pump if necessary. I wonder if it was originally equipped with one or more hose carts? - some German TLs of this vintage had one, even though none of them had built-in pumps.

Thanks for comment this photo. Here in Argentina, when fire departments, whether payed or volunteers, bought new ladder trucks, usually of European origin, they specified with double cabin. Indeed, the aim was that the vehicle can serve to carry a full crew. Furthermore, these trucks not were fitted with hose carts. From the 90s, cab chassis are simple.
