I would be very interested to know if this appliance still exists? Its Ex Newcastle and would be part of the fleet that was in use when the one my group has was there. Any info appreciated..

The white Pumper in back-ground, with 'Granny Seats' and twin Booster Reels -"Battalion 2".

It is a long way from home - USA. Is it a Mack ?

Yep, it's a Mack -- looks like a Model C. The bulldog under the window tells you it's a Mack.

"Good Eye", Mike - I missed that; had thought that the Mack 'Bull-Dog' was displayed on the front only.....

Anyone know, how this Mack ended up 'overseas' ?

There is a photo on this site that I sent in of the 1960 Mack C95 Series Pumper.Look at (picture 13359) for details and lots of comments.

DVLA check shows CCU633V date of liability as: 01 05 2003. So not out of the realm of possibility that hopefully it still exists. The livery in the above shot is quite complimentary making it quite modern in appearance, you could almost get away with it being in front line service still!

Thanks John, yes, its looks very modern...

Thanks, Pete M.; and I have looked at picture 13359 of this same Mack Pumper....the old memory isn't what it used to be...or maybe, 'coz the Marcel(s) have loaded so many good Fire Engine pics on this 'Site !

Hi Walt,
No it's not ex-Newcastle & Gateshead, it's ex-Newcastle Airport (which was and is an entirely separate entity.) In any case, Newcastle & Gateshead ceased to exist under the 1974 merger plan.
