The RAf fire Service had similar vehicles to this in airforce blue and called A morris convoy as title suggests it was a escort for armament convoy just in case!!!
hi bob, this was Colmans mustard factory machine, then passed to Kingston upon Hull voluntary service and then into private hands don't know its presente at the moment
Are we talking of Colmans Factory in Norwich ? If so I was there today the area covered by G4S who have marked transits with Blue / Red Beacons and audible warnings

Hi Bobe. I was just referring to the general term for the vehicles which I believe was the official term as per the Data book. In the fire service we referred to many vehicles in many different terms, some good and some not so good! Just trying to pass on information to the enthusiasts that don't know what we mean. Do you have any photos of these at all during your service as I would be interested as I only have poor photocopy of one from said Data book?
Hi Scammell573. Mate no I don't have any pics of the unit at all but I will check through the RAF fire service association and see if members may have .
have driven this vehicle as a member of the then Humberside Auxiliary Emergency service, and i can confirm it was owned by Reckitt & Coleman of Hull.It was originally red and was from the London area.I did hear it was in private hands of a member of the K.U,H,V.E.S, At Pocklington near York.Hope this helps.
A relative owned/took care of this appliance, it is (to my knowledge) getting/got restored by members of KUHVES after it was released to them. I've attached a link to images of their restoration a few years ago. Prior to this it has been left outside for number of years and suffered a considerable amount of damage.
As stated above the appliance was used by reckitt and coltman in Hull where it was found after many years during some construction work and was aquisitioned by KUHVES/Humerside Auxillary Emerency service and was sold to a private owner who when passed away left it to my relative and then it was paased to gough restorations
