9th June 1990 Essex open days, Stansted town fire station, not the airport. This L4P is a personal favourite. My model of it is on Marcel's transport models at 491.
this has been bought by a school in Yorkshire and fitted with a snow plough to keep their access clear. Deal done via Atkinson Vos Ltd. Still has blue lights and fire rescue side lettering. I suppose school needs fire appliance capability as well. Described as U1500 not U1300. Extra railing also put round roof.
In this picture the Unimog badge is covered up. I have a picture of this and It is not a U1300 or a U1500, It is infact as on the heading a 1300L and that is on the badge

I saw this appliance yesterday at her new home, she is still at the school and looking in very good nick, the reg number has changed, but she still carries Fire & Rescue lettering and battenberg stripes.
Will shortly be on its way to a new home in Barnsley, currently back at Atkinson Vos having some mods and repairs done, has also been returned to its original registration plate.
Ed: what was the name of the school where it served?
