Dennis Simonitor TSM 15 SDM 391M
The pump Simonitor was purchased new in 1974 and based at Flint. The monitor had a capacity of 900 to 3650 lpm. The boom ladder had a capacity of holding up to four persons at any one time on the ladder, without the boom tip being supported. The boom also incorporated a lifting eye for salvage work with a capacity of 400 lb/ 180 kg upwards, according to the boom position.
I turned out on this appliance in the 70’s before I went whole time, and what a belting machine she was. What a pity when they disposed of a perfectly sound piece of kit.

Gents this appliance is still in the yard at Crosby Merseyside along with others from the museum, I visited the station on 10/02/2010 I was unable to get a picture due to other appliances being in the way.

This looks just like a junior-scale American "quint" - and these are very popular here with fire departments who either cannot justify or cannot afford a separate dedicated aerial ladder.
I wonder why this type of unit did not gain more popularity in the UK, because I believe very few were ever placed into service.

The American version is called a Tele-Squrt ( proper spelling)but are rare in the U.S.
One Volunteer Department outside my city has a used Tele-Squrt on a International truck.

Les - I always thought that telesquirts had only a boom which could deliver water but did not have a ladder which could be used by the crew. This Dennis seems to have a comined water tower and ladder, according to the posting description.

The comments regarding the Telesquirt are quite correct as I seem to remember the Durham one had TSM 15 on the boom (Tele Squirt Monitor !) as they were marketed in the UK by Simon Engineering.
