Fire Engines Photos

Thanks for including a firefighter standing by the vehicle, great to have a sense of scale. In your other photo, the tender looks smaller than it is.

I'm really impressed by the size of the water tank and pump. What does the tender carry as far as hose and equipment? Is it a first out unit? What's the normal manning?

Thanks, and great photo.

David: I have part of one answer to one of your questions. Talking to a former Ukranian firefighter's son, who now works for the Chicago Fire Department, he tells me that in his dad's days pump manning was very variable, but most often between three and five. Most of the fire stations in Kiev had two pumpers, a few had only one and the biggest ones had three. All were a standard specification, so it did not matter which was first out...

Did you notice this factory crew cab is a bit unusual as it is a three door design? Last seen on the Mack B series in the 1950s!
