Scania 94G 310 Turntable Ladder XB6955K at the Central Fire Station Singapore. This is the tallest ladder I have ever seen at 150'(?). This Brigade, not unlike Brunei, spare no expence when it comes to fire protection and suppression. Every piece of their equipment is the latest on the market, quite incredible. NOTE the wire cage between appliances, which is on wheels and contain the turnout gear of the on-duty fire personnel. Their helmets are the latest design from France, the best!

I suppose the TL versus HP argument will continue to the end of time. If you could only choose one kind for all situations, what would it be and why?

have to be a TL more versatile in confined areas can be taller in most cases now can have baskets added
lighter than a hp
although a hp gets right over a fire to the seat it endangers the crew and can damage the booms and fittings getting that close
besides the TL has been around since 1800's its tried and tested it works and has worked if it ain't broke don't fix it

Jason, I was wanting an unbiased opinion!

I`d go with an Aerial Ladder Platform ! They can be used in similar fashions as HP`s and TL`s. I think each brigade/department is different though. However, I have to say the TL is far more faster at being deployed.

For your knowledge the Brunei FRD only owns two Iveco/Magirus 150ft TTL.These two appliances are stationed at C command Berakas fire station and F command Jerudong Fire station. If you have time please came to Brunei Mr.Pavel.

Forget to add.Brunei FRD like to gear up its crew with latest fire appliances, rescue and firefighting tools, uniforms and turnout gear.Annually BFRD always post tender for buying new fire appliances, equipment etc.

i must admit i may lean slightly towards a turntable ladder but for the reasons i have pointed out
each have their merits just the TL has more thats all !!! ha ha

Brunei aerial vehicles (HP&TTL) seldom seen in action except our sole Volvo FM Water Pump Hydraulic Platform (WPHP) which always seen in action.Particularly i prefer the usage of the HPs and also the TTLs as well. However when i came to firefighting in narrow streets i prefer the TTLs.In Hong Kong HKFSD prefer to use the HP.See picture#1035.
