This looks exactly like a standard German Iveco-Magirus ladder truck. It even has the triple wipers set up for left hand drive!

Apart from writing their name on it, its not clear what Carmichael actually contributed...

The registration number is actually A621SEW, registered in Feb 1984, operated from B01 Parkside, Cambridge.

Presumably replaced the Dennis Metz F17 30 meter mechanical ladder which operated out of that station when I lived next door in 1964.
