Fire Engines Photos

An excellent find. This was one of three (31 AG 46) (31 AG 47) (31 AG 48). As far as I am aware they never operated out of Greenham, they did however operate out of RAF Wittering as part of the nuclear weapons convoys prior to the arrival of the first three Volvo FL6.14/Carmichal CSVs and their subsequent move to Aldermaston. These Bedfords had two different CSV meanings - Crew Safety Vehicle (HCB-Angus) and Convoy Support Vehicle.

Any idea if it is still around?

Thanks for the info Wayne. I stand to be corrected if my numbers are incorrect. I have checked back and my reg No's originally came from Aidan Fisher and the HCB archive and whilst I have seen photos of 47 & 48, I have not seen them of 46 or 49!

Hi, how sad for a piece of cold war history to be consigned to such an end. Don't suppose you know what happened to the vehicle?

Can confirm 31 AG 47 to 31 AG 49
