Back To The Fire-Hall With The POV

Canada Winter 2009; 'Taking Up' after the fire.

Various hoses, Portable Pump, etc have been piled into the back of this member's POV; for transport back to the warmth of the Fire-Hall for thawing out, and drying; to enable re-stowing the gear back on the Fire-Trucks.

The POV (Privately Owned Vehicle) is a 4x4, used in winter, for commercial snow-plowing(orange beacon). The original truck-bed has long since rusted off, in part due to the ravages of the road-salt(gritting); and is replaced by a 'home-made' one of wood and angle-iron.

In small rural Fire Departments; it is not uncommon for members/neighbors to donate the use of their trucks, 4x4 vehicles, ATV's(All Terrain Vehicles),Snow-Mobiles, small boats, etc; as the situation requires.
