Great shots of Japan's equipment in action...How did you come across this? Can't tell what type of structure was on fire, any idea? Also are these their attack lines or supply lines? Once again great shots.

Many thanks for your comment.
This fire happened near my district, nearly 70 appliances rushed to the scene, the area was very noisy. Fire started in a firework storeroom and spread to 10 buildings, many other buildings were under threat.
The lines above are attack lines.

I was stationed in Japan 1981-1987. I routinely followed the local fire departments on their shouts and would watch them fight fires. Back then all appliances had pumps including the ETs, TLs, and ARPs. More often than not though, no onboard water tanks. The fire plugs were about 50-70 meters apart. Most appliances had 2 tubes(?), one on each side of the appliance. One set up for connecting to a fire plug, one set up for drafting from a cistern, lake, etc. Attack hose was about 50mm on some appliances, 65mm on others, with appliances carrying from 200 to 300 meters total length. Most appliances carried a 1200 LPM portable pump.
