I was wondering what equipment is kept under the left and right side lockers behind the cab? Does the platform have a ladder pipe? If so, is it supplied by hose, or a pipe extending under the ladder?
These Metz ladders have a fixture in the basket to attach a ladder pipe. The monitor and a flexible semi-rigid hose connection are indeed carried in the lockers, along with long duration BA sets for the crew members. The upper section of the ladder has a 75 mm pipe running along one side inside the rails. This is attached to the basket monitor using the semi-rigid hose section and a standard length of 30 meters of 65 (or 70 or 75) mm hose is attached, then connected at ground level to a pumper.
The size of the supply hose varies from one country to another; in France it is 65 mm.
Although this is a rather cumbersome process, it is a very commonplace arrangement. Perhaps it is worth mentioning that ladder pipes are rarely used in most European countries - and if the crew are well trained the set up is fairly quick...

Thanks.
