This is the standard rescue pump in Austria. The basic eleven page Government-issued specification is very detailed as to "must haves", just like the original JCDD spec sheets in the UK.
These include at least a 1600 LPM low pressure pump, a 2000 liter water tank, class B foam equipment, hydraulic extrication gear, a winch, BA sets, hoses, etc and a basic ladder set. It must be designed to all fit on to a medium 14 ton GVW chassis.
Over and above the required minimum specification, individual fire companies can - and often do - buy upgrades. These include larger tanks, higher capacity pumps including dual pressure units, CAF systems, crew cabs for six, seven, eight or even nine, hazmat gear, a roof or bumper monitor and other items. As a result, there is also a norm for a maximum weight 4X4 at 18 tons GVW to cater for what would otherwise become overloaded chassis and power trains.
Not all Austrian pumpers have to be 4X4, but - just as in Germany - this is often preferred even in cities.
