Dennis F28 21FYD
This picture was taken by Bristol Bob and is published with his permission. It shows a Dennis F28 index 21FYD when it was on the run at Radstock Fire Station in Somerset in the early seventies. It was originally on the run at Radstock as a dual purpose appliance carrying a wheeled escape along with a metal ladder. The picture was taken after it had been converted to a carry a lacon ladder and ironically the appliance is parked in front of the former Radstock Fire Station which was closed in 1960. Its sister appliance 22FYD still exists in preservation but it is believed that 21FYD was scrapped after it was replaced by a Bedford TK in the seventies after it has passed into the control of the County of Avon Fire Brigade.
