Once again; neat combination of British and North American fire-engine.
Big steam lorry history, started in 1887 as Edwin Foden Sons & Co Ltd.
Edwin Richard Foden saw the future lay in oil engines; and broke away from the family firm, to found ERF in 1931.
Absorbed by the German MAN AG in 2000.
Interestingly, the original Foden is now part of PACCAR (USA Pacific Car & Foundry Co. Ltd); along with other hallowed truck names as Peterbilt, Kenworth, Leyland and DAF...
Stowing the ladder atop the cab is quite original.
