Do you happen to know what is their daily staffing? How many of the apparatus are actually staffed on a full time basis and with how many assigned to each?

Thanks and great picture of a sweet line up

That is one very nice line up. i like the fact the West Sussex livery stands out a mile! Fantastic pic Roy and thanks for sharing

Nice picture Roy thank you, Jamie, as I cant get an answer as to the cost of these liveries I will say this "tongue in cheek". The roof is alleged to cost £3ooo, add it up across a fleet and you could fund a lot of other kit and manpower.

All we need now is a new ALP. Any guesses what make it will be...

Heared it wont be Sciana's as they are having problems with the two batch

should be a new volvo alp

Hi Jake. Worthing Fire Station's First Away and Second Away are manned by Wholetime firefighters, where as the Third pump is manned by Retained firefighters.

Does any one know weather West Sussex is getting any new appliances next year, or isn't there any for 2010.

Added by Danny Chatfield on 24 October 2009.
Does any one think that West Sussex may look at a Aerial Resuce Pump, like avon have, as they have gone with the same idea for HRT, standard cab. Maybe the way the service and crewing is going to be in the future, cutting the second truck out of Worthing. So could that be a idea when they come round for ungrade?

Added by Robert Smith on 24 October 2009.
I dont think they will ever remove a second truck from the station as Worthing is busy and the 3rd gets called out a lot. I hope more personnel will work at a station in the future, so in an event of a serious blaze, more personnel can get to an incident quicker instead of relying on nearby stations for man power. Plus all those who apply for the wsfb have more of a chance getting in to their chosen station because of more crew in each watch. Crawley has 13 but with the new HRT hopefully an extra 3 or 4 could work there.

its still a very impressive shot on how the fire and rescue look in 2009 compared to the other shots from pete and jon with the 70s and 80s and its a scandinavia line up

Thanks Roy - Lovely shot (if you like Scania's)! Am i right in quessing that this was the first day the new HRT was on the run? If my records are correct this is the most modern line up of appliances at Worthing since 1976, which wins by virtue of having an HP that was only 6 years old. And in answer to a question above about crewing the ALP & HRT should have a full time crew of 2 or 3 as well. Not likely to remove the 2nd WTL at Worthing as it's CAFS fitted as is Crawleys 2nd. Jon.

Crawley's 58 Heavy Rescue Tender is now on the run.
