This vehicle replaced the original Molonglo 10 (International “Acco 510a”) in 1998.
This vehicle was the first tanker in the ACT to be built to the ACT's own design following significant input from volunteers.
Significant changes that occurred in the design of this vehicle include the vehicle colour being white, multiple blue and red beacons, a baffled oval tank to minimise water shift and multiple pump operation panels.
Legislation allows ACT firefighters to remain on the vehicle whilst practical when on the fireground. This vehicle has linked forward and rear crew areas allowing access to the entire tray (inc pump) by crew members without leaving the truck,
The Molonglo Volunteer Brigade is situated on the urban interface in the N/W of Canberra.
For other ACT RFS vehicles, see the FIREYOWIE album in the Visitors link.
