Dennis 1959 F28
This fire appliance UGK466 identified as Motor 25 was attached to the Bedford Fire Station in the City of Perth, Western Australia. It had a Dennis 750 gpm pump and was considered a very verstile machine and ideal for suburban metropolitan service. The appliance is pictured at the Western Australia Fire Brigades Historical Museum Workshops at the FESA (Fire and Emergency Services Authority)Fire Training School in Forestfield, Western Australia.

Considering this is a fairly modern (but not by todays standards) cabbed Dennis, where do the crew sit? Is it a "New World" style rear body with inward facing open crew seats? - a kind of odd mix of old and new?

Michael, normal crewing at a suburban station was station officer and fireman driver in this appliance with two firemen following behind in a 4x4 light tanker. Much of Perth consist of sandy topsoil and taking a heavy appliance off the bitumen roads was not an option. Therefore, all suburban stations to this day have a four wheel drive light tanker turn out with the main pump.

Dennis
Just a note for Marcel - I always thought it was confusing when you ask for the date. I know (now) that you mean the date when the photograph was taken, NOT the date of the appliance. This isn't quite clear, and both myself and a few others like Pavel have been caught out by this.
