From 1959(82 ERL)this Austin Gypsy with front mounted Coventry Climax pump was one of the first batch of Austin Gypsys to be supplied to Cornwall County Fire Brigade.Unusually,it spent all its brigade operational service at just the one station, that being Saltash. Disposed of in 1981,it was purchased by Falmouth Ship Repairers and used by the dockyard police for security patrols. The appliance finally went out of service in 1987 and into preservation.

What is the significance of the blue & white chequered markings? Do they signify that the appliance is operated by the Falmouth Port Police?
