This appliance was on the run as a reserve at Scunthorpe in May 2009 and was involved in an RTA on the M180 when a lorry braked in front as a car pulled out, the appliance driver did his best but hit the back of the lorry !

Yeah all ok - I was told about the accident before it got recovered back to the station _ I was on my way back from photographing the appliances for Belize (see my pics) and I rang my old watch and jokingly asked them to claim the batteries for me - they couldn't understand how I knew ? ha ha !

As an aside this is one of the last batch of SS's Humberside had before we went to the superb Rapier so any spares will be keeping same age or older appliances on the run.
