Durham Dennis Great Dorset Steam Rally

This picture was taken at the Great Dorset Steam Rally on 04/09/09 and shws an Ex Durham County Fire Brigade Dennis. After being taken off the run by Durmham it served with a brigade in the Heathrow area when it was sprayed white. It is currently undergoing restoration and is now kept in the Weymouth area. It still has the Jaguar petrol engine along with the modifications added to prevent the engine overheating.

Oh well done to the owner for saving this! This must now be the earliest surviving Dennis pump appliance in existence. I was wondering if any of the earlier examples had survived, and here is one. Hopefully we'll see it in the North East one day?.

This fire engine was white when i last saw it at Ashley Heath near Ringwood. It was last used for airport duties by Drake And Skull. I cant belive how well Andy the owner has restored it back to its
origanal Durham County Fire Brigade.
