Ladder Truck 4 - Seagrave calling out
Battalion 9 "Pride of Midtown"
July 1999 Broadway district

Special comment : I have to mention that i cannot post these pictures without having a bit of memory passing at this station on a Saturday afternoon in July 1999.
They shared sandwiches, salad, soft drinks and we spoke fire, joked and traded patches.
Two years later in September 2001, i saw this company many times covered with flowers and candles on CNN, i would just like to remember so many who have fallen that month.

Jacques,I found the hospitality at E54/L4 just as warming when I visited this house(fire station)in May of 2002.I was to fly out with my son in Sept of 2001,but due to the tragic events of 911,this had to be changed.Even 6/7 months after though when I finally visited New York City, the scare of the tragedy still remained.Firehouses still done out with scarlet ribbons/flowers as a reminder of all those that were lost.I'm sure today, with the coming of the 8th Anniversary of that tragic day back in September 2001,firefighters from around the World will think, and remember 911.
We hope and prey today this will never happen again, but, this for what ever reason should never have happened the first time.

Because of its location, this house gets a lot of visits by foreign tourists, and they are very good at welcoming one and all.

In addition to being excellent PR representatives for both the Department and the entire city of New York, they are one of the busiest houses and do have a very high risk response area in Midtown - so there is a lot of serious business.

Rest assured that the 343 who fell on 9/11 are indeed still very much in the hearts and minds of their fellow citizens, and I join both of you in hoping they always will be.
