With very few exceptions, small compact pumpers like this Dodge were confined to industrial, commercial and factory brigades in England, as they did not have enough room for all the equipment, ladders and water needed by a county, municipal or city brigade. These Dodges - and similar size Fords - did however serve fire brigades in variety of other roles, where a full size chassis was not needed. These included small ETs, foam tenders, BA tenders, command units and various other support units. By contrast, many European and Eastern countries have often favored small pumpers, which were cheaper, simpler, easier to drive, maneuver and operate - and still had enough capacity to be able to handle the vast majority of incidents they attended. Loads of examples can be seen on this site…
Has now been sold out of the preservation scene as no one was interested in purchasing as was in need of some work and stripped down to the chassis acc to Matthew Leggott on Flickr.
