Unknown Dodge K series. 1996.

This Dodge K series was seen at the Belford vehicle rally in Northumberland back in 1996. It's second owner was Hartlepool Power Station, but I stupidly didn't record it's registration number! Any details anyone?

Looking at the reg it could be MVF 629P Ex - Norfolk Dodge K1113/ERF WRL

I think that it is not MVF 629P. If it is then it received extensive modifications which would have cost a lot of money. For example Norfolk stored their Francis searchlights on the roof, the blue lights were mounted differently and of different types. MVF 629P had a small searchlight where the two tones are in this picture and the main difference has been the addition of the 9 metre ladder on the nearside. Norfolk dodges never carried a 9 metre ladder. Most Norfolk dodges carried a triple extension where this appliance carries a 9m. I might be wrong but from my experience most works brigades operating former local authority appliances never spent a lot of money on modifiying the layout of appliances and if this MVF 629P it has been modified a lot. Please correct me if i am wrong!

I think you are right Graham even though I would love this to have been an ex-Norfolk machine. The difference that decides it for me is that the fuel filler cap is on the wrong side of the vehicle ( I am looking at a photo of MVF 629P as I type this). I'm sure any further suggestions about the identity of this Dodge would be welcome.

You're right chaps, case of me zooming in and squinting too hard! There is a pic on Fotopic showing it as KST 825P. Scottish reg, don't know exactly where though.

Going off a program for Preston Hall 1996. this appliance was MDT 825P an ERF firefighter bodied water tender ladder. ( DT ) is a South Yorkshire registration. Hope this helps solve this, Sadly I've no photo's of it showing it's registration.

Well found Phil - nice to know.

Good try, Phil - you got the experts onto it.

I must admit that both your guess on the Licence Plate, and the correct one, would both look pretty similar...

Nice-looking, workman-like truck and enjoyed her sisters on Fotopic, which had a Norfolk rig, with the "kitty-conered" blue beacons.
