Thankyou Bob another gem! An amusing incident with an ACRT took place on my first posting, as a green LAC fireman I was tasked to perform a "blowback" on the dry powder kettles. This was to agitate the powder as it settled and could compact. I duly charged the kettle with nitrogen, turned off said nitrogen, then found the pressure relief valve had stuck shut. Being 17 and knowing everything, I proceeded to unscrew the filler on the kettle, yes Mr Ewing you guessed, at the last thread it blew off. One white LAC, at least half a kettle of powder and a fire section covered in the stuff. Needless to say, after two shifts cleaning everything myself, I never made the same mistake.
