Did Somerset have many ex GGs? Interesting to see the searchlight and reel on the back of the machine

Lovely picture Bob, thanks. Barrie, I have NYR 773 as a Somerset machine, based at Minehead 1970. She was transferred to Avon Training School in June 1975.

To the best of my knowledge,Somerset had 2 green goddess,the other one was PGW 12 and was a reserve.The reg number of the one in the photo is NYV 773.

I have a picture of PGW 12 on the run as the third away (water tender) at Station C2 Bridgwater and yes it has been resprayed red with the search light and reel in the same position as shown above.

Sorry Bob, hit the wrong key, of course its NYV! Paul with PGW I think these were the only GGs with Somerset, Stevie, the last picture I have of NYV its still green in 1974.

John,sorry to disagree withyou but NYV 773 was red in 1971 when this was taken and red in 1974 when it passed to Avon.

Somerset were issued 10 AFS pumps I have locations but not registrations.If anybody knows them I would like to know.
