F/C Landrover LP in Worcestershire
On a visit to the Three Counties Showground at Malvern, Worcs., on Sunday 30th. June 1996, I saw this forward-control Landrover LP. I had previously spotted it (briefly) at The Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway Fire Dept. at Toddington but the stay there must have been short. A member of staff at Malvern informed me that "it has a gearbox problem" at the time. It looks similar to the ex. Northern Ireland FB Landrovers and does anyone know the correct history of this appliance and what has become of it since?

It's a Land Rover 109 FC with bodywork by HCB Angus. It was one of many built for the Army Fire Service around 1970 - 1974 and has been re-registered following its release from military service..

Chris, the RAF also used these on remote sites, it was known as a Firefly in RAF service. Its a 450/650 gpm Godiva, four lengths of hard suction, twenty of delivery and a FMB 5, with 10 gallons foam compound plus smallgear, chimney gear etc. Crew of four / five with two CABA. A grand machine as it would carry a 35 foot extension as well.
