Further to picture 18640, this machine was attached to E27 Erith for all it's operational life apart from a short spell at E28 Bexley for EVAC radio trials. Originally running as a pump, it became the PE as it was much quicker than the newer F109 (auto) it was paired with. It is pictured here on it's return from workshops following respray around 1980. We only had it for about six weeks after this as the then Commandant of Southwark TC decided that they required a smart machine for pass out parades and took it off us!

To me, this is the epitome of the classic London Wheeled Escape. It's a beautiful machine, just how they should be.

I only just found this picture today! It's nice to know where it was based thank you. Unfortunately it's so common to see appliances in preservation and yet it can be hard to find out the histories of them.

in my ownership now, (2014/15)only really needs a make over, still has it metal escape as well. TW

Remember it well. Turned one over on a shout on Wandsworth roundabout, going to fast. Back in the 70's
