Somerset Dennis Gathering July 2009
This picture was taken at the front of Hestercombe House near Taunton on Saturday 18th July 2009. It shows four Ex Somerset Dennis F28 appliances that have all been loving preserved and were renunited for this photo shoot. From the left is 25LYD Water Tender which served at Brdigwater, Radstock and Wells, 22FYD Pump Escape stationed all its life at Wells, 353MYA Pump Escape stationed all its life at Glastonbury and 703LYA stationed all its life at Paulton. All of the station firegrounds where the appliances served (Wells,Glastonbury,Radstock and Paulton)all border onto each other so its more than likely that the appliances met up on several occasions at larger incidents. Hestercombe House was previously the Headquaters of Somerset Fire Brigade and the control room is still situated inside the house. The brigade workshops were also once at this location so these appliances were once again in familiar surroundings.
