Originally supplied in 1967 to Darlington CB Fire Brigade, and uniquely fitted with a Darlington-built Cummins V8 diesel engine instead of the standard Perkins V8. It shared the Borough Road appliance room for a while with another unique appliance, 999 MHN, the only Leyland Firemaster Magirus TTL, which was bought in 1960. What made this unique was that, of the two ever built, the other - for Wolverhampton - was a TLP (9999 DA). Fortunately 999 MHN is preserved, thanks to Dr. Barry Hutchinson.
