It has a mechanical ladder. Magirus introduced hydraulic ladders in the late 1950s, and many were sold in export markets in 1960 and 1961.

So this is quitr possibly a 1957 ladder, with a new hood. The rest of the cab was identical on both types, so this could have had accident damage and a replacement hood.

Alternatively, we could be talking about an older ladder on a new chassis. This also happened quite often, but the Magirus chassis was famous for being durable, so it is a bit less likely.
