John they seemed a good industrial light pump, the two I have seen had terrible corrosion problems though, bodywork then chassis but is that Fords fault?
I recall seeing AAJ196T at York and the driver opened the door, i just stared and could hardly believe the amount of rot on the inside of the wheel arch !
Given the advances in the construction of vehicles and materials built, i' m also shocked to hear some of the IRU prime movers on a 54 plate are suffering from chassis rot, doesn't bode well for them or any brigade looking to buy the MAN brand as a pump does it ....
Hi John, I am well thanks just keep plugging away at people that matter and they have to listen in the end mate! One of our county councillors has even logged on here to read comments so its working. The wonder of this forum is so many people post views its possible to get a mix! All good stuff!
We ran a fleet of Ford A Series petrol and derv and the only problem we had with them was the from cab cross member that used to rot , and the handbrake fulcrum used to seize up but was easy rectified with drilling and tapping a hole and putting fitting a grease nipple apart from that one of the best vehicles to work on
