Fire Engines Photos

This was new to Lindsey County Fire Brigade - (Lincolnshire) and stationed at B1 Scunthorpe - on reorganisation to Humberside it remained for about a year and was then transferred to Bridlington and replaced with an AEC Merryweather TL ex Goole EWR 749C, It in turn was replaced a couple of years later due to mechanical defects by 7981 BT another AEC Merryweather ex Bridlington - (which the ERF HP had replaced)

I learnt to drive/operate this HP in 1972/73 at Scunthorpe ( Lindsey County days ) and took it to plenty of shouts. The last one I took it to was at Crosby Flats on the 8th June 1974 - the day after the Nypro explosion,some of us had just returned to the Station after the call to Nypro on the 7th and got turned out to the flats - AFA.
In those days Aerials were on most shouts to tall buildings.
