Dennis Big Six Engine

This is the heart of the Dennis Big Six. As the name implies it has a six cylinder side valve engine. Although the cylinder block is cast in one, there are three separate cylinder heads, each covering a pair of cylinders. The dome shaped container on the bottom right of the engine previosuly contained an old style felt oil filter. This has now been replaced by a screw on canister type paper element in anticipation of many more miles on the open road.
