VY 5445 the ex City of York Dennis Big Six
Forgive me for sending yet another picture of VY 5445 the ex City of York Dennis Big Six but this is the third in a sequence taken in May to July 2005 and shows VY 5445 being driven alongside the Mall in London on the 11th July 2005 in preparation for the 60th anniversary parade of VE day later that day in the presence of H.M Queen Elizabeth 2nd.
We were in attendance from the 6th July through until the 11th July and yes, as you are probably aware the 7th July 2005 was the day of the London bombings , this resulted in a highly increased security alert with the result that every day we had to check these appliances for bombs !
These pictures are submitted in memory of my son Mark (seen driving) who in December of 2005 was diagnosed with a rare cancer and passed away in 2008. god bless mate !
