Old timer Fire engine on the bridge
Compare this picture with the one my son Mark posted (picture 2404) his picture caused much discussion as to where it was taken , it is indeed as some of you had correctly identified on Lendal bridge heading towards the Minster, it was taken in May 2005 and was the Big Sixes first return to York in about 50 years, she spent a week in the hallowed company of 'Mallard' in the National Railway Museum as part of the VE day 60th anniversary celebrations, This picture was purposely taken in an almost identical position as the original photo, it was'nt 'posed' I was driving in city centre traffic ! The city walls are visible in the background as is the cenotaph just visible behind the larger (2nd) DHL van and it was a lot drier ! By the way Marks picture was copied from that picture on the wall in York Fire Station.

I couldn't decide if 'Old Timer' referred to the driver or the appliance.....
