This is a compact fire pump based on a converted Italian OM factory panel van. OM was first absorbed into FIAT, and which then became IVECO, which in turn acquired Magirus Deutz.

The prototype light fire pump - identical to this example - was unveiled at the International Commercial Vehicle Show in Amsterdam in 1978.

Several examples were sold in France, Belgium and the Netherlands as well as in Germany. Similar units badged IVECO were also bought by the Italian Vigili, although these were mostly built on factory crew cab chassis, rather than the van conversion.

Although this series was marketed by Iveco in the UK, only the standard van saw service as a fire appliance, in the role of a light emergency tender.
