The Japanese engines all seem to have mechanical "growler" sirens on the roof, in addition to electronic speakers. Which audible devices are used in service on an emergency call?
Michael, Jacques sent me a sound file some time ago and the "growler" sirens were in use on turnouts with the Officer calling out on the speaker to "get out of the way," or something similar,,,,
Sirens typically used nowadays by the emergency services are by Patlite, their sirens are amazing and have hundreds of features such as multitone, handheld control, turn signal integration (automated messages playing when the vehicle indicates to turn to announce said activity) and many others. My favorite is the Patlite SAP-520 PB-G (basic function model mainly used by police) and in general all of the SAP-500 series models.
