Dennis F28 Ex Somerset Fire Brigade

The above photo was taken by Richard Murrell who now owns the above appliance and it is reproduced with his full permission. It shows 25LYD in the state that he found it in languishing in a scrapyard in the 1980's. After being retired by Somerset Fire Brigade it ended up in the hands of some london Firefighters who used it for Benevolent work and changed the livery to the of a London Fire Brigade appliance. The machine whilst in Somerset was only ever silver sided this being the unpainted aluminium and there was never a roller door at the rear where the hose reels are situated. On the side you can just see the LFB name board and the black station plate near the rear doors. Richard has done a fantastic job of restoring 25LYD to her former glory and there are present day photos also displayed on this website.

Was the F 28 powered by the Rolls B60 engine, while the F 24 had the eight cylinder?

Were the No 3 pumps an option?
