Remember Lothian & Borders had similar appliances during the 70s (Hestair Eagle). Anyone have photos or know if any survive to this day?

Norfolk operated one of these and a Ford at Diss fire station through the 70's and 80's. Could be one of the same. I'm sure someone at Diss would know!

Sorry scott ive only got photos of Tayside which are HCB-Angus. Is this an HCB machine?

Thank you for your help Dave. Diss did operate a dodge however which i belive was UCL 163R so could be this machine. The ford they had was NEX99J.

Grant, this is an erf appliance. Hope this helps, Graham

Graham

This is not an ERF appliance, it is a Dodge K850 with a Carmichael body and powered by a Perkins V8.510.

I believe that this is UCL 157R a Norfolk Machine, and was based at Harleston.

Mike,
Many thanks for trying to help with identification. It is definitely not UCL 157R as UCL 157R is the appliance immediately behind the dodge in the photograph. When i mentioned it is an ERF appliance that refers to the bodywork manufacturer. Also UCL 157R was never based at Harleston Fire Station. My friend owns UCL157R but is kept in a barn just outside Harleston!
Once again thanks for the help

I seem to remember this was put for sale advertised as ex Lotus, and formally Acle based appliance. I don't know the reg of the Acle appliance, but know a former railway colleague of mine who is currently at Acle. He might be able to trace it. It was for sale at £350 so I thought about buying it as a water carrier for the Mid Norfolk Railway. Hingham had a Dodge K850 RVF639R which regularly used to come to Dereham on Standby Duties in the eighties!

It is a K1113 with CFE bodywork according to British Bus handbook "Fire engines" by Keith Grimes.
