These are paired with LDH hose layers on identical Unimog chassis.
Used primarily for firefighting water relaying under post-earthquake conditions, when it can be expected that water mains may be broken and road surfaces damaged - hence the deployment of this off road type of chassis.
Apart from a small number of older Iveco-Magirus ladders, Unimogs are the only imported fire trucks in service with TFD.
Fortunately, they are not used very often, so they may be on the roster for quite a long time...
