Fernando, help me out here, perhaps I've missed something somewhere, I can see it's got a stack of ladders but what is the function of this vehicle, please,,??
Its a ladder carrier, the company that owns this truck is in charged of creating access to the fire perimeter for other companies to attack the fire. this truck is also loaded with axes and chainsaws.

"Hook & Ladder Truck" or "City Service Ladder Truck" - this has to be a modern-day version of the old ladder wagon, originally drawn by a team of horses.
Carries a range of ground-ladders, pike-poles & other tools, lighting equipment for the fire-scene, etc; for Access, Entry & Rescue but no pump, hose or water-tank.
Today, with motorized equipment that could carry bigger loads: that function has been absorbed into the Aerial Ladder (TTL); The Quint (ARP or CARP); or onto a Pumper to make a Quad (which would be Pump, Water Tank, Hose & a minimum length of Ground-Ladders).
Fernando - thanks for showing us an older idea, and still in service today.
Several Chilean fire companies still operate ladder trucks like this, although some of the newer ones are now carrying hydraulic extrication equipment too.
Chile is also one of the few major countries where all of the operational fire service personnel are entirely unpaid volunteers, even in Santiago with more than five million citizens.
