Freiwillige Feuerwehr Grsdorf TSF-W Mercedes

The picture fom the 24th of June 2006 shows an
german TSF - W "Tragkraftspritzenfahrzeug mit Wasser". It is also a carrier for one portable fire pump and 6 fire fighters. The "W" in "TSF - W" means that this car is equiped with a water tank too. The truck was build by Ziegler on a Mercedes Benz. "Tragkraftspritze" is the german word for a portable pump and "Fahrzeug" means vehicle, it is also called portable pump vehicle.

Looks like a 4X4. No ladders, small cab, probably no BA, so I imagine it is most likely intended primarily for rural fire fighting. The Vario 8 tonne GVW would have limited the tank to 1, 000 liters. But... much less expensive than a Unimog!

This is a rather unusual specification: most TSFs were rear wheel drive, had a nine man cab and did not have a water tank - more oriented to structure fire fighting.

This Typ is called TSF-W. W stands for water. Germany do TSF/TSF-W are always having a 6 man-Cab and only a 6 man Crew! Ladders mostly stored inside. Watertanks usally do have 500 Liters capacitiy. Both types of TSF are made for small voluntray Fire Brigades for first attack.
