Thats the worst cab-over conversion of a classic 1980's ALF(open cab)'Century Series' pumper that I've ever seen, its totally unbelievable what some fire depts will do to make an appliance look more up-to-date.I wonder why they converted it?.

This is not an ALF or witten roof! Probaly down in house.ALF went down the tubes after it was sold by Kearsy.I don't even consider them ALF'S anymore! The are freightliners nothing more, nothing less.
I was a volunteer at 29 Palms when they got this engine in the late 80's-early 90's. The chief at the time had the cab conversion built (I believe done locally). It was NOT a sanctioned ALF conversion. It looked as odd in person as it does in the picture. And the reason it was converted was because they bought an open-cab fire engine for use in the Mojave Desert. The cab was enclosed for protection from the summer sun, and winter cold.
