Great archive material!

Hungarian fire services are now replacing all of these older locally manufactured units with trucks which are mainly based on Mercedes, MAN, Iveco, Renault and Scania chassis - which means they are quite quickly disappearing from active duty.

Concerning how fire services operate in Hungary, quite a lot of equipment and many SOPs mirror best practices in neighboring countries, including Germany, Austria and Poland. The capital city, Budapest, with a population of 1.7 million, has a very efficient and well-organized fire department with a quite impressive fleet of very modern trucks.
