This 1944 Dodge T214 "Beep" personnel Carrier was in service with the fire brigade of Oostkapelle in the Netherlands. It is now perserved by the fire brigade along with the Van Bergen Pump trailer from 1952. It was in service from 1948 till 1976 by this fire brigade in Zeeland.

Dozens - may be even hundreds - of these ex US Army Dodges served for many years after the end of WWI with fire services in both Belgium and France as well as in the Netherlands. In 4X4 and 6X6 versions, they were used as pumpers, water tenders, brush trucks and personnel carriers - and included ex Army ambulances and command vehicles too.

Other ex military units from WWII which were converted to fire service in these and other European countries included hundreds of US GMC 6X6 2.5 ton trucks and Canadian Chevrolets.
